PERTH SAINTS ANNUAL PUB CRAWL
In 2004, the Perth Saints Social team was formed by a group of mates wanting to play football together. The team spirit and camaraderie took a while to come, but when it did it was fostered on occasions such as the Saints Pub Crawl that has now been turned into an annual tradition.
Troy Richards and Ben Fitzpatrick organised the first one in early June 2004, and 35 people hopped on to the blue bus for a crazy night that involved people being handcuffed to each other, people wearing police helmets, a gnome being smashed on Rokeby Road and many a shooter downed. Not to mention people passing out on Hay Street and not knowing how they got home after being escorted out of posh bars.
It was such a hit that another was organised for later in the season, however the night flopped and only 20 people made the trip.
In 2005, the boys again decided to dust off the pub crawl, this time in mid season and restricting it to a once off occasion.
It was a huge hit, 45 people cramming onto the red bus which was standing room only. Whilst not as wild as the first crawl in 2004, the legend was now born and it was now a must attend event on the calendar of everyone connected with the Saints.
Season 2006 saw the third annual Pub Crawl, and this time the scene was set for an even bigger event, with two buses organised and 70 people joining the fray. Stops included Legends, The Saint, Contacio, Leederville and onto Northbridge.
