2008 FIXTURES RELEASED

Football West have released the 2008 season fixtures and it is smiles all round for the Perth Saints.

With the demise of the Masters Premier side, the club requested all three remaining sides, two social and one masters to play on the same day at Tompkins Park and their wish has been granted with every home fixture being a triple header.

The club has also gained the honour of opening the season at Tompkins Park and hosting the final league fixtures again at home. Indeed each side has their final two League matches at Tompkins Park which could prove beneficial should there be a tight run home for the title.

The drawback to the above is the fact all three sides will be playing away from home for three consecutive weeks in June and July, which could extend to four if any side is in Round 3 of the Cup and draws an away match on June 22.

Other highlights include both Social and Masters playing away to Perth Hills United on the same day at 1.00 and 3.00pm respectively for a road trip up to Mundaring. The return clash sees both Hills sides at Tompkins Park on the 3rd August. Social Premier and Social South One are also at the same ground on the same day with both at Canning City on 6 July with the return at Tompkins on the final day of the season.

The Social Premier side has scored an incredible 17 matches at 1.00pm kick off including the first eight fixtures, with the remaining coming at 3.00pm with only one dreaded 10.30am match.

The Social South Division One lads have their home fixtures at 11.00am with the away kick off times spread from early to 3.00pm. The Saints have a tough start with early back to back matches against local rivals Leeming Strikers and Melville City to be the highlight.

Masters Premier have secured 19 fixtures at 3.00pm with their earliest game being at 1.00pm, which is sure to delight those with family sporting commitments in the mornings.
