FLETCHER IN QUIT SHOCK

Perth Saints Premier player Scott Fletcher has stunned team mates by quitting the club on Sunday, only hours before the teams 8-0 drubbing at the hands of Canning City.
Fletcher called team leaders by phone early on Sunday morning to inform them that he was going to quit the club with immediate effect and would not be pulling on the boots that day for one final match.
Fletcher cited “increasing commitments on weekends” and “not enjoying the game anymore” as the reasons for his decision.
The move came as even more of a shock to his team mates with Fletcher newly appointed to the clubs committee in the role of “sponsorship co-ordinator” at the end of the 2008 season as well as having an active role in the attempted recruitment of a new coach and new direction of the team.
The decision by Fletcher weakens an already thin squad with the side now urgently seeking reinforcements to bolster a paper-thin squad that has suffered two heavy defeats in the opening two league rounds.
The Perth Saints would like to place on record their gratitude to Fletcher for his two years at the club and wish him all the best with his endeavours.
